It is one of the basic elements on the slide. This allows you to include an image of up to 2Mb by clicking on the button + of the element properties panel.

You can upload an image from your computer or select an image from our catalog. If you wish to know more about stock images, view the help article Stock Images.

When uploading your image, a series of settings and filters will be activated to allow you to personalize the same.

Image adjustments

You can see a selector on the properties panel that allows you to choose one of these two modes:

• Fit to screen: Useful when handling images with texts, infographics, or maps. Adjust the image size to occupy the maximum amount of space possible without any trimming. To adjust it to your taste, you can choose the background color around the image and its opaqueness, and the image alignment regarding the cell and internal margins.
• Fill screen: In this mode, the image occupies all the available space. Because the size of your image does not have to coincide with the size of the cell, we have designed a simple method to help you choose the optimal fitting point for your photo. The following shows how the same image can adapt to different cells, establishing a simple point with one click (we suggest a framing point that you can change later). When you change the layout or move the element to another cell, you will see how to maintain the framing of your image. To adjust it to your liking, you can choose the background color below the image, it will be seen in transparent images or when you apply blending modes.

• Mask: In this mode, the image will be cropped by the selected shape and occupy all the space within it. You can choose the framing point, the shape in the mask configuration, solid or gradient background color, and internal margins.

Zoom

In the fill screen and mask modes, the size of the image can be increased to show a detail of it. We can indicate a value from 0 to 100. Where 0 implies that the image will not be enlarged and 100 indicates that the enlargement will be maximum. This maximum magnification will not exceed 1.5 times its original size and will depend on the layout and the device where it is being displayed.

Filters on the image

Different filters can be applied to any image to allow you to obtain the maximum from them. Apply loose ones or combine them to obtain the style you want.

• Opaqueness: controls the transparency of your image and how you see it merge with the slide background.
• Desaturate: Makes your image black and white or leaves it at an intermediate point.
• Blur: It blurs the image. Ideal for background images.
• Tint: It adapts any image to the chromatic range you want. You can choose which tinting color or gradient you want and the intensity of the effect. Some style templates use tint colors on top of images that can be turned on or off depending on the palette you are using. You will realize when a palette is not applying image filtering when you see that it has this icon:

Blending modes: For more advanced control of the ink filter, you can choose how the tint is applied to your image. Please, note that these blending modes (except normal) are not supported by IE11. If you use them, they will not apply in this browser. iOS devices also may have some limitations.

• Fill mode
  • If the image has no transparency, any filter can be applied
  • If the image does have transparency, tkae into account that the transparent part will look opaque and in the tinted color
• Fit mode
  • The entire image box will appear with an opaque background in the tint color. If you don't want this to happen, use an opaque background color (it could be the same background color of the slide).

Zoom

This option allows the image to be displayed, taking up the space of the full slide instead of just the space of the cell it is in.

If you activate it, students will be able to click on a magnifying glass button that will show in the bottom left corner of the image, and on the close button to return to its original size.

Notice: Keep in mind that we will never modify the original image, we will only apply filters that will make your image look different. The user can always obtain the original image if he decides to download the image. If there is any private content you do not want to be seen by any user, please crop or edit the image before uploading it.

• Add an alternative description to your image, unless it is just decorative. Remember, it must be specific and non-repetitive.
• You may also add a long description when relevant.

Functionalities not supported in Accessible mode:

Some image functionalities are not supported in the accessible mode of the course, such as snap mode alignments, some filters such as “blur”, zoom the image, etc.

If you want to use these functionalities, check that the image still represents what is expected in the accessible mode. You can check this in the preview.
