It is an interactive element that allows you a multitude of pedagogical uses. You can place content on both sides, and the user can activate the card to discover what is hidden behind.
Animation
It allows you to choose how you want to display side B. You have several transition effects:
Rotate horizontally: The card rotates on the horizontal plane and reveals side B on the back.
Rotate vertically: The card rotates on the vertical plane and reveals side B on the back.
Fade: Side A fades out showing side B.
Slide up: Side A slides upward while side B accompanies it moving up from below.
Slide left: Side A slides to the left while side B accompanies it moving in from the right.
Reveal: When clicked, side A slides to the right revealing side B, or side B slides to the left revealing side A. You can also reveal the opposite side by dragging the handle while controlling the speed and direction of the reveal.
Side A and Side B
Color: Choose one of the colors from the palette and set its opacity. Additionally, you can select any other color using the custom color picker.
Gradient: You can choose one of the gradients from the palette and control its opacity and angle. Additionally, you can select any other gradient using the custom gradient picker.
Image: If you decide to use an image as the background of the side, you will have the same configuration options as in the image element.
Editing the Card in Accessible Mode
If you include relevant images on either side A or B of your card, you can also add Alt text and long descriptions on both sides.
If you add text to your card on either side, you can assign a heading using the toolbar.
In the text editing toolbar, you will have a language selector for your texts: this feature allows you to select text fragments that are in a different language than the main language of the course, and specify which language it is. This way, the screen reader can apply the appropriate diction to those parts, facilitating comprehension for the student when listening.
Features Not Supported in Accessible Mode
Keep in mind that to ensure text readability, in accessible mode the text will not overlap the image. They will appear side by side for each side of the element.
Animations are not allowed in accessibility mode. Even if you configure them, the content will always appear static in the course’s accessible mode.
