This element allows you to add text to an image with three different styles. You can also add some interaction to your content.
You can edit the text directly on the slide with the same formatting options as in the text element.
Style
You can choose three different styles for your text layer:
Overlay: The text box covers the entire size of the image. You can center the text as you wish and configure both the text color and the box color to create an attractive layout.
Boxed: The text is anchored at the bottom of the image, and the boxed area covers as much as the text layer.
Gradient: Works the same as the boxed mode but with a subtle gradient instead of a box.
Text Appearance
When enabling Text visible through interaction mode, the text layer will remain hidden until the user clicks the action button. When clicking the button, the text will be shown with an animation and will allow closing the text layer again.
Text Box Color
Configure the color and opacity of your text box background. Keep in mind that when text appearance is enabled, the boxed area also appears and disappears with an animation. If you want to tint an image independently of the text show animation, you can use the tint filter on the image itself.
Background Image
You have the same configuration options as in the image element. Refer to the related article for more information.
Editing Text Image in Accessible Mode
Add an alternative description to your images, unless they are purely decorative. Remember it should be specific and not repetitive.
You can also add a long description when you consider it relevant.
In the text editing toolbar, you will find a language selector for your texts: this feature allows you to select text fragments that are in a language different from the main course language and indicate which language it is. This way, the screen reader can apply the appropriate diction to those parts, facilitating comprehension for the student when listening.
Features Not Supported in Accessible Mode
Keep in mind that to ensure text readability, in accessible mode the text will not overlap the image. They will appear side by side, and the overlay, boxed, and gradient styles will not be applied.
The functionality to make the text visible through interaction is not available for Accessibility. Even if you enable it, the text will always be visible in the course's accessible mode.
The text box color is not available for Accessibility. Even if you configure it, it will not be visible in the course's accessible mode.
