If you wish, you can activate the assessment in your courses from the Edit Content menu of your project. You just need to click the activation button located in the upper right corner of the module. Keep in mind that you need to have at least one slide in your project before publishing it.
When you activate the assessment, you will see a card with the most relevant information about your evaluative content. To access the assessment editing, click the arrow located to the right of the card.
Once in edit mode, you can configure the following parameters of your assessment:
Introductory Text: a brief introductory paragraph can help you describe the test and make any clarifications you want.
Passing Grade: set the minimum score required to pass the assessment. This will be used as the passing grade for your LMS if you distribute the project in assessment mode. You can find more information about distribution options in the related article.
Attempts: this is the number of times the user can try to pass the assessment. Once passed, no more attempts will be allowed even if they have not been all used. If the assessment is not passed and all attempts have been used, the course will be marked as completed and the score from the last attempt will be shown. To configure unlimited attempts until passing, simply leave the attempts value at 0. Additionally, if you have included a question pool, each attempt will display questions randomly.
Review: you can configure whether you want the student to be able to see the review of their assessment after finishing it.
Cover Image: you can select an image that will be part of your assessment's cover. You may omit this element if you wish, but we recommend including it to personalize the assessment to your liking and match the style of your course.
Question Pool: with this option, your assessment will include as many questions as you specify, selected randomly from the total questions you have included. You can use this question pool to prevent your students from sharing assessment results. If you configure more than one attempt, the questions will appear in a random order on each attempt.
Random Answers: displays the answer options in a different order each time the student takes the assessment.
In addition to the general assessment configuration, you will find a section to edit the questions and another to adjust the feedback you want to give your students.
Keep in mind that if you have configured a number of attempts, the feedback will not appear until the user completes the last attempt.
The question editor is very simple and intuitive. You just have to click Add Question or Add Answer to start configuring your assessment content.
Additionally, you can add an identifying image to each question and configure positive or negative feedback depending on whether the selected answer is correct or incorrect.
On the other hand, if you want to create a question with multiple correct answers, simply activate the Multiple Answers option.
You can edit the text of both questions and answers by clicking on it in the card. Don’t forget to select the correct answer for each question by marking it in the selector on the left side.
If needed, you can reorder the questions by dragging them using the handle on the right side of the card.
Regarding the general feedback of the assessment, you can include a message for when the assessment is passed and another for when it is not passed. Keep in mind that an assessment with unlimited attempts will not show per-question feedback until the final attempt in which the user passes.
